‘Rebuilding Connections’ Sculpture commissioned by Wellcome - MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute 2019

‘Rebuilding Connections’ explores the neural connection break down in Multiple Sclerosis by embodying the different cell types affected by MS.

It’s an opportunity to connect those affected by Multiple Sclerosis with each other as well as the researchers and general public and to have conversions about how MS has an impact.

During Science week the idea of the sculpture was for it to be interactive; to build up and take apart the pieces, To show the ‘Demyelination’ (the breaking down of) and ‘Remyelination’ that the researchers are working on.

This static version of the sculpture is it’s second showing and plays with being displayed within this Art/ Research space.
